PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA VIDEO ANIMASI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI VISUAL MATEMATIS SISWA SMP

The mathematical visual representation ability of junior high school students is still relatively low. Therefore, learning media is needed that can help students understand concepts in a more concrete and interesting way. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of animated video media to improve students' mathematical visual representation abilities, as well as to determine the extent of improvement in students' mathematical visual representation abilities after using the media. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 35 students of class IX G of SMP Negeri 8 Kota Serang. The results of the study showed that the developed animated video media obtained a validity percentage of 92% from material experts and 87% from media experts with very valid criteria. The results of the practicality test obtained a percentage of 87% from teachers and 88% from students with very practical criteria. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. The N-Gain test result of 0.56 is in the moderate category. Thus, the developed animated video media is valid, practical, effective, and capable of improving students' mathematical visual representation skills.
