Abstract

The massive advancement of digital technology has driven the need for a transformation of learning approaches at the elementary school level, especially through the use of technology-based media that are relevant to the characteristics and needs of students. In the context of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning, especially on the subject of Getting to Know Energy, the process of delivering material is still dominated by conventional approaches, so that the abstract concept of energy cannot be optimally represented to students. Such conditions contribute to the low level of active involvement and conceptual understanding of students in the learning process in the classroom. This research aims to develop animation-based learning media by utilizing the Renderforest platform on the material Getting to Know Energy in grade III elementary school, as well as measuring the feasibility level of the media produced. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) which includes the stages of needs analysis, design design, product development, and validation by relevant experts. The data collection instrument is in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale which is given to validators of media experts and material experts, then the data is analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques in the form of a percentage of eligibility. The results of the study showed that the animation learning media developed obtained a feasibility percentage of 96% based on the assessment of media experts and 98.66% based on the assessment of material experts, both in the very feasible category. The findings indicate that the animated video media developed not only meets the visual and technical quality aspects, but is also in line with the learning objectives and developmental characteristics of elementary school students. Thus, Renderforest-based animation media can be recommended as an alternative to supporting learning media in science science subjects that are more contextual, interactive, and communicative.
