Abstract

Hydrogen, with its environmentally friendly characteristics, high energy density, and
versatile utilization, offers a promising solution for future energy storage systems.
This paper discusses various hydrogen storage technologies, their operating
principles, advantages and disadvantages, application examples, and usage trends.
Despite several challenges, such as storage complexity, high costs, and safety
issues, current trends indicate that hydrogen adoption continues to grow. This
development is driven by the decreasing cost of green hydrogen production,
advancements in more efficient storage technologies, integration of hydrogen into
renewable energy systems, expansion of hydrogen refueling infrastructure, and
increased collaboration among industries and governments. Hydrogen holds
significant potential as a sustainable energy source for the future. With the
development of more effective and efficient storage technologies, along with
supportive policies and infrastructure, hydrogen can play a crucial role in the
transition toward a cleaner and more environmentally friendly energy system.
