REFLEKSI MODERASI BERAGAMA MELALUI BUDAYA GOTONG ROYONG DI DESA MOJOPURO, DUSUN GAYAM, WONOGIRI

Abstract

The value of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) has long been an integral part of the Indonesian nation's identity. It reflects the spirit of living together, helping one another, and caring for others. However, with the passage of time and the influence of globalization, this noble value has slowly begun to fade due to increasingly individualistic lifestyles. This study seeks to describe how religious and community leaders play a role in maintaining and reinstilling the value of mutual cooperation through the four pillars of religious moderation in Mojopuro Village, Gayam Hamlet, Wonogiri. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with field study methods through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that religious and community leaders play a significant role in maintaining social harmony. They instill the value of mutual cooperation by emulating the Islamic teachings of ta'awun (mutual assistance in good deeds), ukhuwah (brotherhood), and a spirit of togetherness in social and religious activities. Furthermore, the implementation of the four pillars of religious moderation—national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and acceptance of local culture—is an important foundation for strengthening social ties among residents. Thus, the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) that lives in Mojopuro Village is not only rooted in cultural traditions but also has a strong religious foundation, demonstrating the practical application of Islamic teachings, which bring blessings to all creation (rahmatan lil 'alamin).
