MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR IPA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR MELALUI PROJECT-BASED LEARNING: PERAN MEDIASI MOTIVASI BELAJAR

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Project-Based Learning (PBL) terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar, serta menguji peran motivasi belajar sebagai mediator. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen dengan Non-Equivalent Control Group Design yang melibatkan 50 siswa kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar di Pekanbaru, Riau. Kelas eksperimen menerima pembelajaran berbasis PBL, sementara kelas kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi belajar, tes hasil belajar, dan observasi pelaksanaan PBL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PBL secara signifikan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dengan efek ukuran besar. Selain itu, hasil belajar IPA siswa pada kelas eksperimen juga lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Analisis mediasi menggunakan model Baron & Kenny menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar memediasi sebagian hubungan antara PBL dan hasil belajar. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa efektivitas PBL tidak hanya terletak pada penyelesaian proyek, tetapi juga pada kemampuannya menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik siswa yang berdampak pada capaian akademik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan PBL sebagai pendekatan yang relevan dan efektif dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam konteks implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka.
