PERSEPSI GURU TENTANG KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH PADA IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM SEKOLAH PENGGERAK DI UPTD SMAN 3 KALUKKU

Abstract

This study examines teachers’ perceptions of school principal leadership at UPTD SMA Negeri 3 Kalukku, specifically regarding the principal’s leadership in implementing the School Driving Program. The study aims to explore teachers’ perceptions of principal leadership in the program as well as the leadership-related obstacles faced by the principal. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that teachers view the principal’s leadership, which combines participative and instructional approaches, very positively. This leadership enhances teachers’ motivation, competence, collaboration, and sense of ownership toward the school. Teachers also perceive that the success of the School Driving Program is influenced by regulatory support, funding allocation, training, professional culture, teacher collaboration, and school digitalization. The obstacles identified include a high administrative workload, limited time, varied digital competencies, and restricted internet access. Strategies implemented by the principal, such as workload management, contextualized training materials, and strengthening learning communities, help to overcome these challenges. This study illustrates that teachers’ perceptions emphasize that consistent leadership, support, and mentoring play a crucial role in the success of the School Driving Program and in fostering a professional school culture.
