IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM PENJAMINAN MUTU INTERNAL (SPMI) PADA JENJANG PENDIDIKAN DASAR, MENENGAH, DAN TINGGI

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is a key factor in creating superior and competitive human resources. In the context of national education, the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) serves as a strategic instrument that ensures all academic and non-academic processes are carried out in accordance with national standards. This study aims to describe the concept, application, and challenges of SPMI implementation at various levels of education, from elementary to higher education. The research method used is a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach based on a review of policy documents, quality management theory, and previous research findings. The study results indicate that implementing SPMI through the PPEPP (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) cycle is capable of creating a sustainable quality culture in the educational environment. In elementary and secondary education, SPMI focuses on strengthening student character, literacy, and competency, while in higher education, SPMI implementation supports improving the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and external accreditation. The main challenges faced include limited human resources, low commitment to a quality culture, and administrative burdens. However, digitizing quality documents, ongoing training, and synergy between SPMI and SPME are effective solutions to overcome these challenges. Overall, SPMI is not simply an administrative obligation, but a dynamic system that fosters a culture of quality, transparency, and accountability in educational institutions. With consistent implementation, SPMI can be a driving force in transforming Indonesian education into a superior, character-based, and globally recognized institution.Keywords: Case Study, Mind Mapping, Problem Solving, Mathematics, Innovative Learning.
