Hubungan Minat Belajar dengan Civic Skill Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan

This study aims to examine the relationship between students’ learning interest and
their civic skills in the Civic Education (PPKn) course among tenth-grade Culinary2 students at SMK MVP Ars International, using a quantitative correlational
approach. The results show that 57.2 % of students fall into the “good” to “very good”
category for learning interest, while 72.6 % achieve “good” to “very good” levels in
civic skills. A correlation coefficient of r = 0.50 (p = 0.003 < 0.05) indicates a
moderately strong positive relationship, with learning interest accounting for 25 %
of the variance in civic skills (r² = 0.25). These findings confirm that the higher
students’ interest and engagement in Civic Education, the more effectively their civic
skills develop. The practical implications of this study support the adoption of
contextualized learning strategies, project-based learning, and interactive media, as
well as the involvement of parents and community leaders to reinforce the material’s
relevance.
