IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN GEOGRAFI DI SMAN 1 BANUHAMPU KABUPATEN AGAM

Independent Curriculum is an educational concept that provides freedom, flexibility, and creativity in the teaching and learning process. In Indonesia, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum aims to create learning that is more in line with the development and needs of students. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Geography learning at SMA Negeri 1 Banuhampu, Agam Regency. This study uses a qualitative research approach with a qualitative descriptive research type that focuses on the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Geography learning at SMA Negeri 1 Banuhampu, Agam Regency. The subjects in this study consisted of the Vice Principal for Curriculum and Geography teachers, as well as students at the school. Data collection methods and techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions to conclude existing findings based on the data that had been analyzed. Based on the results of the study, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Geography learning at SMA Negeri 1 Banuhampu showed significant efforts from the school in making the policy a success. In planning, the school has prepared learning tools that are adjusted to the principles of the Independent Curriculum, by involving teachers in training and workshops to improve their understanding of this curriculum. The implementation of the curriculum in the classroom is carried out with a more flexible method, providing space for students to explore the material independently and actively. Evaluation of the implementation of the curriculum is carried out through observation and feedback from students and teachers, which shows that this curriculum has succeeded in creating a more enjoyable and interactive learning atmosphere, although there are still challenges in terms of fulfilling facilities and the readiness of some educators who need to be further encouraged.Downloads
