Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to know the improvement of students ceitical thinking ability about plane circumstance This study aims to determine the increase in students' critical thinking skills in learning around and wide flat area through STAD learning in class IV Elementary School, Brebes Regency. This study uses a classroom action research method and research subjects are grade IV students in the state elementary school in Brebes Regency, as many as 18 people. Student learning outcomes in class IV SD Negeri 1 Bulakamba are still low, this can be seen from the ability of students to solve math problems on the circumferential material and flat area. STAD is a learning strategy that guides students to work together, have responsibilities, and be able to express opinions. The results of research using STAD learning obtained learning outcomes as follows: In the first cycle increased student learning outcomes by 55.5%, increased in the second cycle to 88.8%.
