PENGGUNAAN BAHASA SLANG PADA GENERASI ALPHA DI LINGKUNGAN EXCELLENCE LEARNING CENTRE

Abstract

As time and generations evolve, new language styles often emerge, one of which is slang. This study, titled "The Use of Slang Language among Generation Alpha at Excellence Learning Centre," conducted to identify the variations and meanings of slang used by Alpha Generation. The research employs a qualitative approach with a non-random sampling technique, specifically purposive sampling, through participatory observation of several students at Excellence Learning Centre. The collected data was analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study conducted contribute to the field of linguistics, particularly sociolinguistics, and provides about the types of slang used in Alpha Generation. This research is expected to help readers understand types and meanings of slang that are developing among Alpha Generation. The result shows that slang used by students in Excellence learning centre reflects linguistic variation in communication using slang to create closeness or familiarity, and to express emotions in communication.
