Abstract

This research aims to identify the effect of problem-based learning (PBL) model on 5th grade students' learning outcomes of science subject in theme 8 about natural events at SDN Kalisampurno 3. It is an experimental study using one group pretest posttest design. The subject of this research is 5th grade students of SDN Kalisampurno 3 in the 2022/2023 academic year. The instruments used were student observation and test sheets. Observations of students were carried out during the learning teatment in 2 meetings; applying PBL model at the first and second meeting, there was an increase in students’ learning outcomes in each indicator. While the data from the pretest and posttest were analyzed using a hypothesis test, namely the Wilcoxon test, this shows the effect of the PBL model very well with the calculation of the Wilcoxon test which (2-tailed) is obtained by 0.00<0.05, so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This demonstrates that there is an effect of the PBL model on 5th grade students’ learning outcomes in science subject at theme 8 about natural events at SDN Kalisampurno 3.
