Abstract

In student learning readiness, there is motivation which is the main key to learning. Unmotivated students create a passive classroom atmosphere. This problem, if not resolved, results in not achieving learning objectives. The purpose of this study was to increase student learning motivation in Civics Education subjects by implementing cooperative learning type Think Pair Share in Class IV SD Negeri 1 Tambaksogra. The type of research applied is Classroom Action Research (PTK) for 2 cycles. Each cycle was held 2 meetings. The subjects in this study amounted to 30 students. Data collection used observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out by analyzing observation results and questionnaire results. The results of the analysis showed that there was an increase in student learning motivation in using the Think Pair Share type cooperative learning model. The research indicated an increase in the learning motivation observation score from 56.3% to 93%, the student questionnaire score jumped from 69% to 91%, and the teacher activity during the two cycles increased from 63% to 83%. So it can be concluded that the TPS type cooperative learning model can increase students' learning motivation.
