UPAYA PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA ANAK DENGAN APLIKASI TEBAK KATA (TEKAT) DI SD NEGERI PAKINTELAN 01 KOTA SEMARANG

Abstract

This research aims to develop innovative learning media, as well as examine the feasibility and effectiveness of the Tebak Kata Application (TEKAT) learning media on new vocabulary reading material for Indonesian subjects. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg & Gall development model. The large group trial research subjects used were 23 students at SD Negeri Pakintelan 01 Semarang City. Sampling was taken using a purposive sampling technique where 6 students were selected based on low, medium and high levels of reading skills. The research was carried out from February 2024 to March 2024. The variables in this research were the Tebak Kata application learning media (TEKAT) and learning outcomes related to the reading skills of class I students at SD Negeri Pakintelan 01 Semarang City. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis technique uses the data normality test (Shapiro Wilk), paired t test and N-gain test to determine how much the pretest and posttest results have increased. The Tebak Kata (TEKAT) application media is categorized as very suitable for use with a feasibility percentage of 93% by media experts, 97% by media experts, 95% by experts, 100% by language experts, 100% teacher response and 96% student response. The results of media analysis through a t-test using a paired sample t-test show a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.00 so that the average difference between the pretest and posttest is visible. The average pretest score was 56.95, the average posttest score was 80.86 with an n-gain score of 0.57, included in the moderate and quite effective category.
