Abstract

This research is Class Action Research which uses Murda Script as its object. The aim of this research is to improve Murda script reading skills by implementing the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by quiz cards for class VIIIA students at SMP Negeri 5 Ponorogo. This research was carried out in two cycles, starting with pre-cycle activities. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, tests, questionnaires and interviews. The analysis technique uses reduction, inference and data presentation techniques. The data collected is in the form of numbers in the form of students' grades before and after taking part in the lesson. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the use of the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) model is very effective in improving students' Murda script reading skills. This is proven by the increase in the percentage of students completing, where in pre-cycle activities it was only 3.22% to 90.32% in cycle 2. Apart from that, the effectiveness of the TGT learning model is also marked by an increase in the number of students who get grades in on KKM, which initially only had 1 child, became 28 children out of a total of 31 students.
