Abstract

Listening skills are the most basic skills in language ability. This research was carried out with the aim of: 1) knowing the activities of teachers and students in implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model assisted by digital storytelling media; 2) students' story listening skills after implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model assisted by digital storytelling media. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research results show that the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model assisted by digital storytelling media can improve learning activities and learning outcomes. This can be shown based on the results of observations in cycle I, namely teacher activity 85% and student activity 75%, and in cycle II namely teacher activity 100% and student activity 100%. Meanwhile, story listening skills using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model assisted by digital storytelling media in cycle I was 60% and cycle II increased to 91%. Thus, the researchers concluded that the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model assisted by digital storytelling media was effective and could be applied as an effort to improve the listening skills of elementary school students.
