Abstract

This study is a classroom action study aimed at improving the emotional social skills of students using a problem-based learning model in Class IV B SD State 112 Palembang. Data is collected through observations and field records during the learning process on cycles I and II which covers the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data is analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis of percentages. The subject of this research is a student in Class IV B SD State 112 Palembang in the Teaching Year 2023/2024. The results of the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with emotional social learning showed that the social emotional skills of the participants in the first cycle averaged 61% with high criteria, while in the second cycle the average reached 82% with a very high criterion, so there was an increase of 20%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of problem-based learning can improve the social emotions of the students in the fourth B grade of the State SD 112 Palembang.    Keywords:  learners, problem based learning, social emotional skills
