Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems found in the field that grade 1 students of SDN Pucanganom still have difficulty in their writing skills, so that it becomes one of the causes of difficulty in understanding the subject matter. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the SAS (Structural Analytic Synthetic) method on the writing ability of grade 1 elementary school students. The research method used is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental type that uses a control times series design. The population in this study is all grade 1 students. While the sample is grade 1a students. The data collection techniques used in the study were writing ability tests and student response questionnaires. The results of the student response questionnaire amounted to 80% with a student response scale that showed very good results. While the results of the writing ability test are 0.000 <0.05, which means that H1 is rejected in the independent sample t test hypothesis  test,  meaning  that  there  is  an  influence  in  the  implementation  of learning using the SAS method.  It can be concluded that this study provides an influence on the writing ability of grade 1 students in learning using the SAS method.
