Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' learning outcomes through cultural shadow puppet cards as the media. This research was conducted at Jajartunggal 1 Surabaya Elementary School, involving 26 fourth-grade students. The research was initiated due to the inadequate learning outcomes of students in the subject of diversity of ethnicities and cultures in Indonesia during IPAS (Integrated thematic learning). It is a collaborative study involving the Mentor Teacher and Field Supervisor Lecturer. Data collection techniques include observation and test instruments. The research was carried out in three stages: Pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The average percentage scores were 72.30% in the Pre-cycle, 80% in Cycle I, and 91.15% in Cycle II. It can be concluded that the utilization of cultural shadow puppet cards enhances fourth-grade students' learning outcomes regarding the subject of diversity of ethnicities and cultures in Indonesia.
