Abstract

In the fifth grade of SD Mekar Sari, there is a low level of student learning activeness which indicates that their learning style affects their level of engagement in learning. Therefore, teachers need to understand students' learning styles to teach more effectively, so that students can be more active in learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the description of students' learning styles and the learning activeness of grade V students of Mekar Sari Elementary School, and to determine whether there is a significant influence between students' learning styles on the learning activeness of grade V students of Mekar Sari. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The population of this study was Mekar sari Elementary School students and the research sample amounted to 21 fifth grade students. This research analysis includes validity test, reliability test and Pearson correlation test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the relationship between visual learning styles and student learning activeness is neutral with a correlation coefficient of 0.5112. The relationship between auditory learning styles and student learning activeness is weak with a correlation coefficient of 0.252587. And the relationship between kinesthetic learning styles and student learning activeness is very weak with a correlation coefficient of -0.40994.
