Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru still uses conventional models in learning, causing students to be less active in the learning process. The conventional model is also one-way, where the teacher only conveys material using the lecture method so that students tend not to pay attention to the teacher when giving explanations, showing a lack of focus and active involvement in the learning process. Therefore, to increase students' learning motivation, a new learning model is used, namely, the scramble learning model. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of scramble learning model on student learning motivation in learning PPKn class VIIII SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru. The population in this study was VIIII grade students of SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru with a total of 299 students. The sample in this study amounted to 72 students, which were divided into two classes, namely class VIIII F and class VIIII D. The data collection methods used in this study were observation, questionnaire (questionnaire). Data processing with statistical analysis with the t test formula, namely obtained tcount = 16.467 and ttable = 1.994, which means that tcount is greater than ttable, thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that the scramble learning model affects the learning motivation of students in class VIIII SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru by obtaining an average value of 93.6% in the experimental class and the average value of 93.6% in the experimental class.
