Abstract

This research was motivated by a lack of understanding regarding the water cycle material among fifth grade students at SD Negeri Blitar. This is because the learning media used are teacher books and student books. The aim of the research is to produce animated video media based on powtoon material on the water cycle that is valid, effective and practical. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) type of research with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The results of this development research are (1) media validity obtained media validation results of 86.1%. Material validation obtained score 100%. Validation of learning tools got 100%. Based on the results of the recapitulation of validation of media, materials and learning tools, animated video media based on powtoon on water cycle material got an assessment score of 95.36% and was included in the very valid criteria; (2) effectiveness media in limited trials obtained an average of 87.28% with classical completeness of 85.7% and in extensive trials obtained an average of 90.2% with classical completeness of 95%, showing a level of success with very good criteria so that it was declared effective , complete, and influential in improving student learning outcomes; and (3) the practicality of Powtoon-based animated video media obtained a teacher response percentage of 100%, the results of student responses in the limited trial obtained a score percentage of 97.1%, and the results of student responses in the trial broad obtained a score percentage of 99% and was stated to be very practical.
