Abstract

SDN S implements a teaching practice that includes a contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model supported by the concrete medium of Javanese gamelan instruments. The underlying issue stems from the school's limited resources, lack of attention, motivation, and student concentration in the Arts, Culture, and Skills (SBdP) learning, particularly in traditional musical instrument lessons. Sharing this practice is crucial as it can offer a solution to similar issues in other schools. Teachers play a significant role in developing teaching modules, teaching materials, Student Worksheets (LKPD), and learning media, ensuring that the learning activities are effective. Challenges involve limited facilities and infrastructure, active student involvement, teacher understanding of the contextual teaching and learning model, and knowledge of student characteristics. The activity is attended by the School Principal, the fourth-grade teacher, and students. Strategies to overcome these challenges include using easily understandable media, intensive teaching for struggling students, and context-based learning models. This learning model features meaningful relationships, meaningful activities, independent learning, collaboration, critical and creative thinking, and high achievement standards.The impact of this practice includes increased student motivation and learning outcomes. Evaluation results indicate the effectiveness of the contextual teaching and learning model, with all students achieving passing grades. The positive responses from the School Principal, colleagues, and students demonstrate support for innovation in education. The key success factors are excellent collaboration from all parties, the alignment of the teaching model with instructional media, and student enthusiasm. The conclusion drawn from the overall process underscores the importance of innovation in education to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This process provides valuable learning experiences for both teachers and students, highlighting that contextual access to specific media can enhance SBdP learning outcomes.
