Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze Ki Hajar Dewantara's thoughts, which have relevance to the concept of an independent curriculum in realizing student well-being as a medium for improving the quality of education in Indonesia. This study uses qualitative research through a literature study approach. The data collection instrument in this study was to collect various sources of literature about the relevance of Ki Hajar Dewantara's thoughts to the concept of an independent curriculum in realizing student well-being as a medium for improving the quality of education to support data completeness. Data analysis techniques in this study were carried out at the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and the conclusion of research results. From this study, it was found that Ki Hajar Dewantara's thinking and the concept of an independent curriculum have a very close relationship with the welfare of students (student well-being) from the aspects of having (school conditions), loving (social relations), being (self-fulfillment), and health (health). Both place students as the main focus and recognize the importance of a balance between academic, character, and emotional development, which will ultimately have a positive impact on the overall quality of education.
