Abstract

Rapid developments in Islamic religious education, both in curriculum, methods and learning media, have demanded educational institutions and educators (teachers or lecturers) to seek innovation in learning Islamic Religious Education. Research shows that so far, learning Islamic Religious Education in the eyes of students is often considered as stagnant learning and there is no progress in development. The understanding of Islamic Education Learning in students is often considered static and less progressive, resulting in a lack of interest and boredom. As a response to this, this study aims to find a learning approach that is more adaptive to the current era, especially in the development of narrative material in Islamic Education subjects. One of the models investigated is the application of e-books and e-comics as the foundation of PAI learning. The data sources taken refer to related literature, scientific journals, and research references that focus on Islamic Religious Education, both in manual and digital form. The research method applied is a literature study with a qualitative approach. The findings of this study indicate that the integration of e-comics and e-books in the preparation of narrative materials about prophets for elementary school level is able to facilitate students' understanding of PAI and encourage increased interest, creativity, and innovation in the teaching and learning process at the elementary level.
