MAKNA SIMBOLIK DAN MOTIF TAPA NCAI DI KECAMATAN MONTA KABUPATEN BIMA NTB

Abstract

This research aims to determine the symbolic meaning, motives that cause Tapa Ncai and the social impact of Tapa Ncai activities in Monta District, Bima Regency, NTB. with phenomenological methods, with secondary data and primary data. This research uses data collection techniques: interviews, observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman data analysis techniques. The results of this research show that there are symbolic meanings, motifs and impacts of Tapa Ncai activities. The symbolic meanings of Tapa Ncai are as follows: 1) wood, which has the meaning of life, justice, balance, honesty and boundaries; 2) stone, which has the meaning of lust, hardness, togetherness, and loyalty. Furthermore, the motives that caused Tapa Ncai were, 1) political motives including defeat in regional elections, unfinished projects; 2) economic motives, including the inappropriate targeting of assistance provided by the government, PKH money that has not been disbursed; and 3) criminal motives are characterized by acts of beatings, beatings, murders, and abuse. Then the social impacts of Tapa Ncai activities are 1) positive impacts including getting social justice that is appropriate and should be obtained; and 2) negative impacts including 1) disrupting social order which includes congestion, economic paralysis, crowding of people, disruption of traffic flow; 2) giving rise to new conflicts or acts of revenge which include mutual acts of retaliation carried out by both parties concerned as a form of protest and resistance against both parties.
