Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based media in the field of market snack ethnomathematics in Medan City on spatial building materials has a significant impact on mathematics learning at elementary school level. In the modern era, the city of Medan as a center of culinary wealth and cultural heritage has undergone a transformation through ICT technology. The learning media used plays a key role in learning effectiveness. especially in the context of mathematics learning, it is important to understand the role of learning methods and media. This research aims to analyze the benefits of using ICT-based learning media and investigate the use of learning methods and media in mathematics learning at SDIT Daarul Istiqlal. The research method applied is a case study approach, which involves direct observation and interviews with informants as the main data source for analysis of results. The research subjects were class IV teachers from SDIT Daarul Istiqlal and 25 class IV students. The results of the analysis from the research conducted show that there are several benefits to learning for both students and teachers from the use of ICT-based media; 1). Concept visualization 2). Creativity and variety 3). Use of ethnomathematics examples 4). Interactive and participatory 5). Facilitate discussion and collaboration 6). Organizing material 7). Accommodate various learning styles 8). Understanding of culture and local context 9). Track record of learning.
