Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the learning process, especially regarding student learning activity. Through this process improvement, it is hoped that student learning outcomes, especially science, will also increase. From the results of the initial survey, it was found that the average level of activity in grade 5 students at SD Kandangan 04 during learning was relatively low, namely only 43.33. This also has an impact on low science learning outcomes, where the average score is only 53.33 and the percentage of KKM achievements is only 71%. The solution chosen to overcome this problem is the application of the STAD type cooperative model. This model was chosen because the syntax makes students active. Activities like this can trigger students to excel because this model indeed directs students to excel through group collaboration. CAR is carried out in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings. Data collection instruments in the form of tests and non-tests. Prior to use, the instrument has been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the results of student activity data analysis, the average value in the pre-cycle was 47.33, 90% percentage was in the low category, cycle 1 average value of activity was 63.66 percentage, 95% was in the medium category, cycle 2 average value 79 percentage 80% are in the very high category. While the results of data analysis of student learning outcomes in the pre-cycle obtained an average value of 53.3 percentage 71% is in the very less category, cycle 1 average value is 57.8 percentage 76%, is in the sufficient category, cycle 2 the average value is an average of 81.6 with a percentage of 72% is in the high category. it was concluded that the use of the STAD model could increase the liveliness and learning outcomes of science class 5 SD Negeri Kandangan 04.
