Abstract

  The purpose of this research is to study character education and religious values ​​in the animated film Omar and Hana. The research method used by researchers is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The literature study approach was applied in this research. The documentation approach is data collection. Animated films can be used as educational media, especially for elementary school children. The animated film Omar and Hana is an example of character education that must be imitated in speech and behavior. There are several old songs in Omar and Hana's animated film, children are indeed in the happy phase and can easily learn various lessons with songs. Character education is an effort to think and behave in accordance with the ideals of life that are instilled in humans to produce positive personality qualities. The research findings show that faith, compassion, cooperation or mutual cooperation, enthusiasm and never give up, patience, and not wasting are important aspects of character education in the animated film Omar and Hana. Religious principles are also firmly instilled, such as always saying greetings, basmallah, hamdalah, and tasbih sentences. Due to the character education and religious principles contained in Omar and Hana's film, this film is suitable for young people.   Keywords: character education, religious values, omar and hana animated films
