Makeup training can provide women with vocational competencies that support greater independence and opportunities for economic participation. This study aims to examine the implementation of makeup training and its contribution to the empowerment of socially vulnerable women at the Komojoyo Komoratih LKP in Yogyakarta. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation. Data were obtained from the head of the institution, instructors, and training participants and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and verification of conclusions. The results indicate that the training implementation was organized based on participant needs, job opportunities, and market demand. Learning emphasized bridal makeup through demonstrations, hands-on practice, repetition, mentoring, and ongoing evaluation. Participants developed competencies in makeup, paes (paes) or cengkorongan (traditional bridal attire), hair styling, bridal accessories, and traditional wedding attire. The training was also associated with increased self-confidence, communication, social interaction, and perceived recognition from family and the surrounding community. Some participants have begun using their skills to obtain makeup jobs, although others have not achieved economic independence due to limitations in capital, equipment, clients, marketing, practice opportunities, and post-training mentoring. This study shows that effective vocational training can support technical, psychosocial, and economic empowerment, but sustainable economic outcomes require ongoing support after the training is completed.
