Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of perceived usefulness, trust, and digital financial literacy on the intention to use financial technology (fintech), with perceived risk serving as a moderating variable among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the food and beverage sector in Pasuruan Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. A total of 385 respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were collected through a Google Forms-based questionnaire and analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The findings indicate that perceived usefulness has a positive and significant effect on the intention to use fintech (β = 0.278; p = 0.000), as does trust (β = 0.228; p = 0.001). In contrast, digital financial literacy does not have a significant effect on the intention to use fintech (β = 0.109; p = 0.093). Furthermore, perceived risk significantly weakens the positive relationship between perceived usefulness and the intention to use fintech (β = −0.057; p = 0.000). However, perceived risk does not moderate the relationships between trust (p = 0.090) and digital financial literacy (p = 0.100) with the intention to use fintech. These findings suggest that perceived usefulness and trust are the primary determinants of fintech adoption among MSMEs, while perceived risk may reduce the influence of perceived usefulness on the intention to adopt fintech. Therefore, fintech service providers should strengthen system security, enhance data protection, and promote digital financial education to encourage sustainable fintech adoption.
