Abstract

This study aims to increase students' interest in learning by implementing the CRT approach using Madura animals integrated with KSE in science learning. This research is a class action research with the research subject of grade VII I students at SMPN 1 Bangkalan. This research uses 2 cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II on the classification of living things, the key topic of dichotomy, and the key to determination. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire in the form of a student learning interest questionnaire given before and after science learning. The N-Gain value formula assesses the increase in students' interest in learning. The results of the study showed an increase in students' interest in learning between before the cycle and cycle I and cycle II and between cycle I and cycle II. The results showed that before learning students had a percentage of learning interest of 55.42% in the sufficient category, then in the first cycle showed an increase in students' learning interest in the medium category with an N-Gain value of 0.53 with the percentage of learning interest after learning 59.83% in the high category. The value of increasing students' interest in learning in cycle II was in the high category with a score of 0.74 with the percentage of interest in learning after learning 88.93% in the very high category. Science learning by implementing the CASEL social-emotional competency-integrated CRT approach in science learning can increase students' interest in learning science.
