KOMUNIKASI DAKWAH FRONT PEMBELA ISLAM (FPI) MELALUI HABIB RIZIEQ SHIHAB PADA SIKAP POLITIK PEMERINTAH

Abstract

This study analyzes the complex dynamics between the Indonesian government and the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), focusing on the Dakwah Communication delivered by Habib Rizieq Shihab. Utilizing Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, this research reveals how Habib Rizieq's Dakwah Communication constructs and disseminates ideological myths through verbal and non-verbal signs. These myths, such as the government being anti-Islam, the necessity of enforcing Islamic law, and Muslims as victims of injustice, are accepted as truths by a segment of the society, particularly FPI supporters. This Dakwah Communication functions not only as a dissemination of religious messages but also as an effective political tool. The study also examines the government's response to FPI's rhetoric, especially in the context of handling the Covid-19 pandemic and Habib Rizieq's return to Indonesia. The main conclusion of this research is that the political conflict between the government and FPI significantly influences Indonesia's socio-political dynamics, with Habib Rizieq's Dakwah Communication playing a role in shaping public perception and influencing policy. The study's recommendations include the need for open dialogue between the government and FPI, an understanding of pluralistic values, and public education on health, safety, and harmony
