Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi suatu perangkat elektronik semakin lama semakin pesat seiring dengan perkembangan jaman. Hal ini menyebabkan kecenderungan masyarakat sering berganti-ganti perangkat elektronik mengikuti perkembangan teknologi yang ada. Peralatan elektronik yang semakin cepat tergantikan akan menjadi limbah elektronik (e-waste). Ada perbedaan sistem pengelolaan limbah elektronik baik di negara maju maupun di negara berkembang, sehingga dibutuhkan kajian lebih lanjut mengenai pengelolaan limbah elektronik di negara tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil kajian yang telah dilakukan, negara maju seperti Amerika Serikat dan Swiss telah memiliki sistem pengelolaan yang baik. Sistem pengelolaan tersebut melibatkan masyarakat sebagai konsumen, produsen, dan pemerintah. Namun, baik di negara maju seperti Amerika dan di negara berkembang seperti India dan Cina, meskipun sudah memiliki regulasi, namun masih belum dapat membangunsistem pengelolaan dengan baik.
