Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari ide dalam melihat perkembangan trend yang terjadi dalam industri musik. Musik sebagai artefak seni dan budaya yang diciptakan manusia memiliki ideologi yang menempel di dalamnya. Produksi ideologis tersebut berkomunikasi dalam konteks masyarakat. Begitupula pada cara menilainya. Etika Musical Preference dalam skema keilmuan estetika merupakan suatu ruang yang penting dalam memahami konteks industri musik. Pernyataan tersebut memiliki kecenderungan ke dalam persepsi dari pengalaman dalam memilih jenis musik yang diminati. Ruang lingkup trend musik dapat dilihat dari musical preference yang dimiliki oleh remaja. Sebagai komponen masyarakat penilai dan penanggap seni, yang paling sering menggunakan dan berafiliasi dengan gaya hidup. Hal ini tentu saja berdampak pada, jenis musik apa saja yang dihinggapi oleh konteks tersebut? Menelisik lebih dalam bahwa pada dasarnya tinjauan ini bukan hanya pada kontek melainkan pada teks musikal yang membentuknya. Pada peristiwa industri musik, penelaahan dan penentuan jenis musik yang dapat memiliki nilai jual, menjadi hasil umum dalam studi ini. Dengan mendekati musiknya, maka secara tidak langsung mendekati pasarnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan preferensi musik yang dimiliki remaja SMA khususnya di kota Bandung. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dalam studi lapangan dan penggunaan teori Musical Preference. Hasil yang diharapkan dalam penelitian ini agar dapat menjadi pandangan secara umum bagaimana remaja menilai dan menanggap musik yang bersintesa ke dalam identitas keseharian, sebagai upaya mendapatkan perkembangan minat dan pilihan gaya musik dikalangan remaja SMA di Kota Bandung.
